Title: Drive format, and accessing outside of the box.
Post by: Navion on July 18, 2016, 02:58:35 PM
I have an older LS-WV4.0TL/R1 that's gone into EM mode. I'm pretty sure the unit's toast, but I want the data off the drives. Is there ANY way to mount these drives on to a mac, pc, Ubuntu box to be able to access the data? Connecting drives to any computer shows about 5 partitions, and all the OSs I've tried so far say they have to be formatted before use. Yeah, NOT!
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find it.
Thanks.

If it's in EM mode then why not just reinstall the firmware?

Because that didn't fix the problem. If it had, I would have backed the data off and moved on.

Attitude? What error did the updater give you?

No, sorry, not attitude: I've tried all the basic stuff...the box is just ready to head to the great recycler in the sky, and I want to pull the data off on another machine. I just want to find out what drive format Buffalo uses so I can attach it accordingly.
