Title: Disk Status: Error / Can't Rebuild Array
Post by: suborganism on July 08, 2016, 08:31:13 PM
Hello,

I have a LS-QVL/R5 Link Station. One of the hard disks crashed so I swapped it with a new one. When I turned the unit back on, I got the E16 (hard drive not found) error. I went into Navigator and saw this:

I clicked Rediscover Disk and nothing happened. All the other options are grayed out. I then went into Array 1 at the bottom to see if I could rebuild the array and saw that button also grayed out:

To check that the disk wasn't somehow physically damaged, I plugged it into my PC and it came up in Disk Management as unallocated space with no partitions. I am running Windows 10 if that matters. Any help would be appreciated.

Rediscover the disk first (1st image) then the rebuild option should be available.

The screen shot was after having tried to rediscover the disk. When I clicked "rediscover", the progress bar ran for a bit and then nothing changed.

For some reason its not reading the disk, connect it to a PC, initialize it, put it back into the linkstation, reboot, rediscover and see if you can rebuild then.

I initialized the disk and the problem persists unchanged.
