Title: How do I re-build RAID on new disk on a DUO HD-W1
Post by: Icarus on June 12, 2016, 05:59:22 AM
Hi
I have a HD-W1.OT1U2 with a failed drive. I have had this unit for many years, but now one of the HDD's has failed.
What is the procedure for replacing this failed drive and rebuilding the raid from the good drive?
I have read through the documentation that came with the unit, but there is no mention of how to do this, well, not that I can find!
A search via Google has not brought up any results for this particular product either, just the newer NAS stuff.

As a side note, my unit has 2 x 500gb HDD's, would it be possible to replace the failed 500gb hdd with a 1tb hdd and have it's raid  rebuilt, then swap out the other good 500gb drive with a new 1tb hdd and have that rebuilt?

Thanks
Peter

If you put in a new disk it will rebuild automatically.

Thank you davo, it was as simple as you stated :)

Drive is currently being re-built.

Question is why could I not find that info anywhere?

Cause the device is ancient!

Well, yes it is, but I have two and they are still going!

I also have a newer NAS 1TB box too :)
