Title: Status 0xc0000225 on TeraStation WS5400RN1604S2
Post by: rdesormiers on April 07, 2016, 03:05:07 PM
Hello,

Well, I have been struggling for days to make this unit working properly.  I have re-install the Windows 2012R2 operating system with the Micro SD card that comes with the unit. Since then, when rebooting after re-imaging, I get the following message:

Status 0xc0000225...

BIOS is uptodate.

Thanx. Regards.

Where exactly are you getting the error from? The display? Can you access the remote desktop? Any errors on the dashboard?

Hello Davo,

Here is the short story of what happened.  Note that the unit is Brand New.

1) I have updated Windows 2012R2 patches.  When I rebooted, I got the following error message:

Fatal error C0000034 applying update operation ...

2) I have tried to troubleshoot the problem but nothin' worked.

3) I went ahead and took the Micro SD Card that comes with the NAS and re-install the Windows 2002R2.  This is where I do get the error message 0xc0000225 after applying Buffalo image...

In OTHER TERMS, the OS doesn't boot.  Note that when installing a regular Windows 2012R2 (not packaged from Buffalo), the operating system boots up but I can't do a 4 disk raid 5.

Thanx. Regards.

Have you contacted support for instance? My advice would be to fully erase all the drives by attaching them one at a time to another system and using the diskpart utility to clean them, then do the reinstall again.

Instructions for using diskpart to clean drives here: http://buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/faqs/cleaning-a-disk-in-windows-7-using-diskpartexe (http://buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/faqs/cleaning-a-disk-in-windows-7-using-diskpartexe)

I know this is an old post but hoping to get some more information on the resolution?
Im having basically the same issue but did see some errors that some things couldn't be found while the USB restore was running.

I have a WS5400 that I got used with no drives. I purchased the recovery media from Bufdalo but it won't complete the image process complete and when it reboots the OS is not found. I will try and attach a screenshot

Can you share me image of recovery media? I cannot purchase it to reinstall my WS5400
