Title: Looking for an LS210D TFTP boot image
Post by: pwdin on March 29, 2016, 08:44:21 AM
I have replaced the (dead) drive in my LS210D but cannot locate a suitable boot image to tftp. Does anyone have a link?

Many thanks.

Does someone not looking for a "donation" have a tftp image? How about anyone at Buffalo?

Did you ever get hold of the image, I need it for a rebuild myself.

So I also get an offer to buy the firmware.

@davo, are Buffalo aware that you are selling their intellectual property?, more to the point, are you aware that is illegal?

I'll try and find a legal/legitimate source, thanks.

I outlined the process for extracting the images in this post:

Once you've extracted initrd.buffalo and uImage.buffalo you can use them in the TFTP process.

I couldn't reply to your PM (seems I am limited to one message per hour!). The 'fee' proposed was $16, but I already found another guy who said Buffalo sent him the TFTP image files, and he is hosting them, with install instructions and programs, for free.

It took longer to get the case open than reflash the drive and set it up again with the new disk, but all good in the end.

Hi, are you able to post the link to the files you found?

Regards,
Ron

Quote1. Get the boot files:
Download the firmware for your device, unzip it and find the *.img files containing the firmware

unzip initrd.buffalo, it contains initrd.buffalo
unzip uImage.buffalo, in this case it contains uImage-88f5182.buffalo. rename this to uImage.buffalo

the passwords are listed at https://vanducuy.wordpress.com/2010/08/09/buffalo-linkstation-revived/
