Title: Transfering old LS-W1 drives to a new LS220
Post by: DavidIB on March 13, 2016, 02:49:28 PM
My venerable LS-W1 died. I'm amazed it lasted so long.
I'd like to buy a LS220DE and put the drives in there.
Does anyone know if the format or drive requirements are different?
Will initialisation insist on formatting the drives?
Or can I just slot them in and be good to go?
(I'm a Windows guy and I feel a bit lost in the Linux world).

Thanks

Ideally the disks need to be blanked before putting them into the new linkstation, it will format them once you begin the installation.
