Title: LinkStation Mini
Post by: aamcle on June 11, 2009, 04:26:29 AM

Hi All.

LinkStation Mini  set to always ON

LS-WS WS500GL/R1

Pluged into

Dlink Router DSL-G624T

F/W Ver 021301702.UK-A

I have had a LinkStation Mini configured for disk mirroring for some time, that's working, I'm having problems with web access but I think that it's the fire wall and I'll resolve that in dute time but connectiong to the NAS from any of my wirless networked PCS is and always has been slow - several seconds.

To be clear I have drives maped to shares of each of the PC's I click the link and it takes a long time to open once it's opened it works acceptably fast.

PC's

2x Dell Vista

1 x Dell XP

1x Generic XP

Any Idea how I can eliminate this connection lag?

Thanks      Alan

Seems like everything is configured fine on your network, the limiting factor for your network speeds is you router and your connection types.  I would also try turning off Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) on your router.  If you have decent speeds while wired into your router then it's going to be something in your wireless network.  Test a newer n router and I would imagine the issue would take care of it's self.
