Title: LS220D Setup for a newbie
Post by: lister110 on February 06, 2016, 11:33:00 AM
Hi everyone. This is my first post and my first time using a nas drive. I have a couple of questions, hopefully someone can help with.

My small network consists of just apple Macs /iphones /ipads and I plan to use my Ls220 Series to host my video / iTunes / photos ect. Before I setup anything on the Nas should I format the drives to Mac Journaled or Nas/Mac equivalent?

Also, I was planning to setup shared folders. But I was wondering how you go about allocating space for each shared folder? Is this possible?

thanks
lister

Since any NAS is a self-contained system, you cannot format the drives from a client connecting to the unit. It is not possible to format the LS220D with a Mac file system.

I suggest you look through the user's guide to get an idea of how the unit is configured:
