Hi all,

Please could I ask for help for an error I am seeing on my NAS storage box.

I recently noticed when logged on to the NAS box a firmware update option had appeared, which I duly selected and waited patently for the update to download and apply.

The update process took well over an hour, it hung on rebooting the NAS box, eventually I decided to manually restart the NAS box (I don't have any files of importance on the box so felt this was a risk I could accept). This resulted was an Emergency Mode boot.. perfect I though I could just follow the steps to manually apply the firmware update.

Part way through this update the NAS box decided to shut down / power off, now when powered, 30 or so seconds in to the boot process a message appears on the LED screen advising of a missing boot image error E06, use TFTP to upload the image, server IP 192.168.11.1, machine IP 192.168.11.150.

First of all I set my PC to IP address 192.168.11.1 and connected it directly to the NAS box, no dice. I've connected via a router, again no dice.

This led me to try to at least ping the NAS when connected, no dice.

It would seem that whilst the NAS is failing to boot it is also failing to bring up the network interface, something that this page eludes to: http://buffalo.nas-central.org/wiki/Terastation_Recovery (network will not start).

After looking around at numerous guides and forums I am drawing a blank as to how to enable communication to the NAS when in this TFTP boot rescue mode, I am hopefully assuming that once / if the NAS can communicate again I can go through the manual restoration steps.

How I can achieve this I don't know, please could anyone help?
