Title: TS-4800 - no RMM - can't extend RAID6 array
Post by: xrapidx on December 05, 2015, 12:21:42 AM
If anyone can assist, just about out of space, so getting desperate.

I have a RAID6 array, with 4x 4TB WD Red drives, at 96% - I can't extend it. I've tried just about everything, formatting the drive, unforrmatted - I just don't get an option to add the extra disk to the array.

The Array sceen looks as follows

Disks are identical, and on the compatibility list.

I'm using the latest firmware. 3.00-0.05

After continued back and worth, and having to recreate the array a few times - it was finally accepted as a bug with the device firmware, you cannot expand a RAID6 array - at this stage I have not had feedback whether they're even going to fix it. (I would imagine not being able to expand a RAID6 array to be something quite serious?)

This gives me two options, either fully populate the device with drives, or attempt to return it for a refund - unfortunately due to the slow nature in dealing with this - I have gone over my permittable return period with the supplier.
