Title: WHR-HP-G300N crashes
Post by: neo2 on October 13, 2015, 01:42:05 PM
Router Model WHR-HP-G300N
Firmware Version DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (06/03/12) std - build 19154
CPU Model Atheros AR7240 rev 1.2 (0x00c2)

It only happens at night but when I am watching streaming video - the router goes dark, dead. To get it to work I have to unplug the router from the power and plug it back in. It does this every few days.

It's been working for about 3 years. It is at the end of it life?

Saw the same thing, where the G300N crashed, wont issue DHCP had to do power cycle.

I just upgraded to V24-SP2 build 19154, when this happened.  Will let it run to see if it happens again.

Prior to the upgrade it was running the old 2010 firmware and all of a sudden overnight started dropping packets, 25% to 50% on a very under utilized usage.

Once I upgraded the firmware, the packet loss went away and was working great until the crash.  I was uploading a 8M file at the time so maybe some type of streaming caused it.

Maybe its end of life for this guy, had it for probably 5+ years, good work horse, maybe time to go to router heaven.
