Title: no link/activity light
Post by: heeley on September 19, 2015, 08:40:12 AM
Hi,

I'm pulling my hair out here.

Just bought a new Linkstation LS441D with 8 gb storage and cannot get it to be seen on the network. Drive lights are all O.K. , no flashing leds. There is however no light whatsoever  from the link/activity light on the rear of the Linkstation nor any flashing from any lan port that the other end of the cable is connected to..  All other lan devices work perfectly.

It was originally plugged into my router but ive also tried plugging  the lan cable from the Linkstation directly into the lan socket on the back of my machine, even used a different cable, it makes no difference.

Suggestions would be most welcome. Could this unit be faulty?

regards

Heeley

I have exactly the same problem with my LS210D. It works when plugged into my router , but get no lights when plugged into my D-Link gigabit switch. I have tried different cables, the switch works with other devices. It's just the combination of my NAS and switch that doesn't work.
