Hello, I have a terastation ts3400d.   Just recently setup a new user with access to one folder.   Seems like ever since then I cannot login using my username and password, or admin.  under computer, I click network, i find my NAS name.   I click on the NAS and get a login screen.  It states, "enter your password to connect to" "myservername".  Then the login gives me two options, either user-pc/scott and password, or use another account.  I chose to use another account.   I type in admin and password, and says wrong name or password.   I think it is adding my computer name to the username.   I tried on a windows 7 and 8.1.  I am able to login to the settings of my NAS via IP address.  Also able to access via FTP.  Any suggestions?

found somewhere online to login with the following (for your ad\username) yourusername\yourusername and your normal password in the password section.   for instance, if your username is BOB and your password is xyz123, then you will make your username BOB\BOB and your password xyz123.

You can also use local\username. In your example that would be "local\bob". That causes Windows to use the account local to the NAS rather than the PC account.

What does the word, Local mean?
