Title: Notifications
Post by: bigalfromwigan on August 22, 2015, 07:19:58 PM
Is there some way I can stop my Linkstation from continually sending me notifications?

I get these messages every few minutes, so the first few times I dutifully opened NASnavigator and found out that there is a firmware update available and yes, I can turn off these notifications by ticking a couple of boxes. So I tick the boxes and I get the notification again in a few minutes. This is recurring, so I now no longer take notice of the notification messages.

So off to the Buffalo website to get this new firmware but the website tells me that I am some kind of second class citizen because I am not American and no, I can't have the new firmware.

That wasn't the case when Buffalo took my second class citizen money for their average goods.

Can somebody explain to me, preferably in English (because that is my first language) why a company sells to an international market but does not offer support outside their country? That is a little parochial isn't it? Or am I missing something here?
