Hello - I have a Buffalo NAS and have it set up and enabled to allow for web access for file sharing to specific folders.  When I am logged in on my home wireless network, the web access connects without issue.  However, when trying to access the NAS through web access on an outside network, it never makes a connection.  I have seen this work in the past without issue. 

Do you have any advice for how to troubleshoot why I am unable to connect through web access on an outside network?

If this worked before and does not work now, likely something has changed in your network. Have you replaced any network devices recently?

Sounds like you probably should setup manual ports for internal and external and setup a rule in your router for the NAS. Trusting UPNP is like trusting the IRS...

or if you did replace a router like Texturtle said then thats probably you issue and i still recommend doing it the way I suggested vs trusting UPNP

No changes in the network, including router, etc.  The only thing that I remember being updated was the firmware on the NAS.  Thanks for the input on the ports and checking the settings on the router.  I will check into that next to see if I can adjust there and hopefully have a positive result. 

Thanks for the help with this one.  After modifying settings with port forwarding on my router, this was resolved.
