Title: Linkstation Live Stuck in Startup mode
Post by: wowiejr on June 19, 2015, 11:56:28 AM
I've got an LX Live 2.0T drive that was working fine until recently.

Now it seems to be stuck in startup mode. According to the manual that is what the continuously flashing blue light means.
•   The NAS does not show up in NAS Navigator.
•   It is NOT in EM mode
o    According to my router there was a DHCP lease to an EM mode Linkstation but I can't access it still. I tried IP                      192.168.2.16 with no luck
•   Linkstation Live doesn't have a function button so please don't tell me to use that to force EM mode.
I'd like to save the data on the drive if possible. I have some hard to replace photos on there.

It has been stuck this way for a couple of days. I've tried restarting it several times but again, no luck.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks from the new guy.

Getting the same thing with my LS-X3 -- the disk spins up, I hear about 10 head seeks (or something like that), then the disk spins down, and the blue light is flashing quickly forever.

I had to open the Linkstation and remove the drive and plug it into my Linux box to transfer to a new Linkstation.

I then wipes the drive and kept it in the box. Seems to have problems every now and then but it works.

If you don't have a Linux build use Knoppix to boot in Linux and transfer data from there. You can install it to a thumbdrive and run it without further install.

On mobile so forgive formating and brevity.

Good luck
