Title: HD-LC4.0U3 4TB USB drive won't work on two separate Windows XP systems
Post by: jhigbee on May 29, 2015, 09:45:50 AM
Buffalo 4 TB USB hard drive fails to be fully detected on two separate Windows XP computers, on an HP laptop running Windows XP, and on an HP minitower running XP.

Drive does show in device manager on both systems with no yellow exclamation point or other trouble marks.

Drive works fine on two separate Windows 7 systems.

So again on *two completely separate* XP systems the drive's existence never populates into "My Computer" - no drive letters show up, even though the drive does show ok in device manager on both systems. And on two completely separate Windows 7 systems the drive shows up just fine and the drive works fine on the Windows 7 systems.
