Title: Offsite Backups
Post by: hallcomp on June 03, 2009, 02:34:15 AM

We are using Terastation PRO II as primary NAS in SMB clients to store backup data. We then are using Drivestations to copy off the NAS. We can rotate 2 Drivestaions ok, but I'm told we cannot add a third or there is an issue with USB id and that putting a 3rd drive in can cause it to be reformatted - not good if we put back in a drivestation to do a restore and it's ID is not recognised !! We want to rotate as many drivestations as client wants to use. Can anyone cast some light on this issue please.

You are able to use more then 2 usb hd's, but you have to use the remove usb disk assignment option in Disk Management->USB Details.
