Title: LS-VL 1.0 versus LS 210
Post by: bdsmith on April 26, 2015, 06:19:53 AM
I have the Linkstation LS-VL 1.0 (1 TB) model still running smoothly.  I am about 50% of capacity, however, will be soon loading a large amount of photo and video footage on my NAS.  I am interested in upgrading to the new Linkstation 210 (3 or 4 TB).

Are there any major differences between the two models?  The 210 model states it is a fan-less model and I am assuming my LS-VL 1.0 has a fan, or at least it does make a fairly good running noise.  The next question I have is, could I then make the LS-VL 1.0 my backup drive for essential operating system backups and use the 210 model to backup to the cloud?  I also have a USB 1TB HD that I would make another backup of my data with and store offsite.

Ideas, suggestions?

Thanks,

Brian
