Title: You do not have permission to access...
Post by: primacomputer on April 22, 2015, 08:42:38 AM
I have a LS421DE that was backing up from another and encountered an error.  Now I have a folder full of files I can't access.  I get a "You do not have permission to access..." message in windows, permission denied in FTP, this folder can not be written to in web access.  I can't even delete it.  Anything I can do aside from reformat my drive every time a file doesn't copy successfully?

Assuming the inaccessible files are on the target side, you should be able to delete/recreate the target share and re-run the backup.

Yes the inaccessible files are on the target side.  However there's a lot of other data on that share that will have to be backed up before I wipe it out.  Is there any solution that doesn't involve buying another backup system?

You might try re-running the original backup that failed. If you can get it to complete it should release the lock.

Re-running the backup creates a new folder and doesn't fix the permissions on the old folder
