Title: HS-DH2.0TGL/R5 drive failure
Post by: Radiate88 on April 15, 2015, 11:24:50 AM
I have used the above referenced system for about 8 years without issue.  The other day the #1 drive failed.  I turned off the machine, and removed the hard drive, which is a hitachi 500gb.  I was able to find the exact same hitachi drive, so I ordered the new one. It will be here in a couple days.

Can you point me to some instructions on how to proceed once I receive this new drive?  I am hopeful that I will be able to rebuild the array without any loss of data.

OK.  I see that there have been some views, but I guess no one has the answer.  Oh well, hope I can pull it off.

Put in the new HDD -> Reboot the NAS -> log to admin page -> Disk Management -> RAID Setup -> Array1 -> Select the disk -> Restructure RAID -> Wait 18-24 hours.

Thanks davo.  I was able to figure it out.  All was well when I got up this morning.
