Title: Max Storage in HD-H1.6TGL/R5
Post by: TimDelbaere on April 02, 2015, 07:59:21 AM
Hi,

I have been given an Terastation HD-H1.6TGL/R5 that I would like to upgrade and continue using. At the moment it has firmware 2.16 on it.

How can I upgrade that to a much newer firmware and be able to use much bigger disks.

What is the largest sized disks I can use in this NAS. I know that the WD Reds can be used because of the emulated sector size of 4096 (I think)

What about updating the kernel, can that be done?

Thanks

This unit uses IDE disks, not SATA so you are extremely limited on the disk size as they are not really made anymore. 2.16 is the latest firmware for that unit.
