Title: LS-CHL2DF Keeps Failing
Post by: otakushark on June 02, 2009, 11:33:46 AM

May 16: Purchased a LS-CHL2DF and installed it with the software on CD. I have a Vista machine and and XP Pro one.

May 25: Got flashing lights and the error messages E22: Fails disk 1 mount and I11:  The bad sectors of disk 1 reaches emergency level. I reformatted the drive and installed the 1.07-0.65 firmware and the NasNavigator 2.15 off the website. The NAS seemed to work again.

June 2: Same issues and error messages as May 25.

Bad sectors would usually indicate a physical problem with the disk itself, as far as im aware the unit will need to be replaced.

Might be more than even the drive. Now I can't get into it at all.

June 3:  NASNavigator reporting device is in EM mode, so the password should have automatically set to default.

June 4: Tried doing a firmware update (regular, then forced) both unsuccessful.Updater reporting "Couldn't pass to the authentication. Please confirm again admin-password of the [random letters and symbols]"

It can boot into EM mode because it has encountered a physical problem as well.  As the previous poster mentioned, you will have to replace the bad HDD
