Title: direct directly to Terastaion
Post by: andyGravity on June 01, 2009, 03:31:33 PM

I need to upgrade the firmware on a first gen terastation (HD-H1.0TGL/R5).  Current firmware is v1.12 (yikes!)

A machine running WniXP is available for this, but, so far, I've only been able to use a wireless netwrk for communications.

How can I get a direct hookup, to do the firmware upgrade?

Thanx!

AndyR

Do a direct connect Via the ethernet cable.  Make sure you find the Ip add of the unit in Nas Navi and set a static on your LAN side.

Just a minor addition.

It may or may not happen to you.

Make sure it is not running any backups or transferring of files when you unplugged it from your network and do a direct connection.

One of my users was transferring files when another colleague went to unplug the LAN cable from the TS and suddenly it just started beeping and showing all LEDs. Had to TFTP after that...sigh..

My two cents worth..
