Title: Is there an alternative to NAS LS-X1.0TL for speed ?
Post by: TMHC on February 27, 2015, 07:52:26 PM
Hi,

I've been using a LS-X1.0TL for an application that started with 1 x computer accessing data on the NAS and has grown to 5 x computers. I really notice an increase in time for accessing files when all 5 computers are in use. Main use is a Microsoft Access database and word / excel files.

My LS-X1.0TL has failed and I'm struggling to get the firmware loaded to a replacement hard drive, and wondered if it would be a good time to move on something as bit more powerful. Is there something in the Buffalo NAS range that would give better performance or should I be looking at a server (scary for me as I'm self taught in all this networking stuff) ?
