Title: TS-RVH12TL/R6 Boot Fail
Post by: ckirschenmann on February 26, 2015, 11:32:20 AM
Any help is MUCH appreciated.

I've previously worked with Terastation Pro (rack mounts) and had similar problems, but was able to get to a TFTP boot and fix the problem. This one has me stumped and Buffalo Tech support literally told me they could not assist.

A client has a TS-RVH12TL/R6, 2 drives (1 and 3) had red LEDs next to them. I could not get the machine to boot even after wiping those drives. At this point we had the data other places, so I was not concerned with the data. Treating it like I would a QNAP I wiped all 4 drives. Now I get "Boot Fail"

To Troubleshoot:
-Plugged all four drives into a windows machine, through disk management formatted and created a simple volume
-Per Buffalo Tech Support: plugged in all 4 drives, and run a clean through disk part
-Same as the above but created a simple volume

All three still leave the buffalo at a "Boot Fail"

I've scoured the web for answers and not really found anything.

Has it been completely bricked or is there something I can do?

Thanks in Advance!
