This unit apparently supports ftp over explicit SSL (FTPES) because I can access the Linkstation via this method from within the LAN.
As far as I can tell, neither FTP (implicit SSL) nor SFTP is supported.
Problem is I cannot get this FTPES access working remotely because I do not know what ports to open up in my router (in addition to listening port 21) and I don't see anywhere to configure this in the NAS config.
Appreciate any feedback.
