Title: Trashbox - finding good files being moved regularly into trashbox
Post by: dsi1 on February 02, 2015, 09:07:40 AM
I have a very small LAN with a NAS LS 2.0.  I store all my data on it to keep my machine unencumbered as my graphics and CAD programs eat a lot of space as it is. So, my entire design portfolio is on the NAS, and I discovered it has been shifting many files from the directory tree into the Trashbox.  Personal AI taste and editorial attitudes by semi-intelligent machines, notwithstanding, this is quite disconcerting.  I suspect that possibly when I open a file and close it, it is making the shift, as opposed to leaving it in place. However, a very large number of files have moved, not duplicated but moved in their entirety, and my biz partner never deletes anything ever (I have to clean out her machine periodically).  Why is this happening?  Overnight 180 gigs disappeared.

Do you have any backup jobs running? What is your firmware version and what is your model number?
