Title: Linkstation bigger HDD

I HaveLinksation 1 hd-h250Lan and the hard driver died. Can i put bigger hard drive?

It did have 250GB drive but can i put 500GB?

Did your hard drive completely died, meaning it cannot be detected anymore.

If yes then basically you cannot put in a bigger harddisk capacity unless you can find someone to copy over the partitions which also contain the firmware codes.

If no, then great, you can just clone the 250gb to the 500gb using Acronis software.

 

I had a hd-h160lan which I bought 4 years and wanted a bigger capacity since it was almost full.

 

Since there was no more warranty, I took out the drive and put in a 400gb, it then started beeping and LEds blinking non-stop.

 

NAS NAvigator cannot detect it as well.

 

Took out the 160gb, did a clone onto the 400gb and voila! it boots up as usual

 

I was able to destroy the 160gb drive then.

 

Have fully upgraded it to maximum of 750gb and was using it until 4 months ago when I sold it away to get a new Linkstation..

For Linkstation HD-H250LAN what would be the largest HDD that could be installed?

I've been wanting to try a bigger hardrive for ages but i need to find a model that is going to be quiet.

There is no set limit.  From what ive seen no higher than 1.5 tb.
