Title: Painfully Slow on Mac computers Super Fast with windows
Post by: blah blah yada yada on January 13, 2015, 10:36:28 AM
Hello everyone.

I have a hybrid network of Windows (various versions) on my network and MACs (all on Yosemite 10.10.1). The users that access the LS Pro Dou NAS boxes on windows have lightning speed. The poor MAC users are about to impale me because they can not get to the NAS box at times or it just too slow. Also they can not view certain folders amongst other issues. If they go and log on from a windows machine their problems are not there. I've read something about Apple changing the SMB code but I do not want to go and make changes on the MAC user computers without checking this forum first. So please if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. At this point I am almost at the point of giving up my first born.  Thanks

Does you shares have AFP enabled and do you have the AFP service enabled under network? Try that. Then go to a Mac and connect to a server and you will type afp instead of smb or cifs, if your not sure what i mean go here for the mac part http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10644
