Title: LS421DE - Multiple features not working
Post by: WillFry on January 02, 2015, 08:47:16 AM
Hi,

I recently acquired the Linkstation LS421DE. Some of the advertised features are not working. I'm not sure if these issues are all linked or not, so I'll list them below:

I've tried all of the standard resolution steps (restarting the NAS, updating the firmware, factory reset etc.) but none of this has helped. The version of the firmware I am running is 1.33.

Many thanks,
Will

From my understanding and experience, there are going to be some portable hdds that wont work. Just the way the manufacture makes some of them. There isnt no list or anything like that just experience. You can try formatting the usb drive to FAT or ExFAT. When the USB is connected. Have you check to see if the linkstation is showing it under the drives tab?

I would say do a factory reset for the DLNA part and see if that helps. This will only erase the settings and not the data.

Thanks for the tips. I've performed a few factory resets now, but this hasn't solved the issue. Are there any logs I can take a look at? Maybe there'll be some clues in there...

Hmm.. have you tried calling buffalo support? DLNA issues with units can be werid. Dont see many so dont know what else to try that is basic. Also i though 9050 was the dlna port and not 9000 as that is webaccess.
