Title: Changing Hard Drives on DRIVESTATION QUATTRO-RM
Post by: cyrilcoq on May 28, 2009, 08:37:43 PM

Hi,

We'd like to buy a new USB DriveStation with more than 2TB.

So, is there a way to change the 4x500GB hard drives from the original Buffalo DriveStation ?

Thanks.

Hi,

Just need to ask what are you enquiring about?

1) Getting a new drivestation?

or

2) Upgrading the original drivestation?

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

We want to buy a new Drivestation but we need more than the 2TB.

So is there a way to have a Drivestation with let say 4TB ?

I know than the specs say it is 2TB but can we replace the hard drives after buying the Drivestation in order to have 4TB ?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes you can but it will void your warranty.

The maximum it can go to is 4tb meaning 1tb harddisks x 4.

I'm now currently testing out a drivestation quattro with 8tb capacity..2tb hdds each..

So far so good..but still in testing phrase...

so i can honestly recommend 4tb maximum atm..

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

It's too bad than there is a Buffalo Terastation with 4TB and only 2TB for the Drivestation ... :s

We probably try to change the hard drives.

Do you know the references of those hard drive ?

Thanks

Tanjl,  how did your testing with 2tb hdds go?  do you recommend it now the price of a 2tb hdd is reasonable.  Thank you!
