Hello. I have an external Buffalo Drive Duo (W1.0TIU2/R1) connected to my Power Mac Desktop for "Time Machine" backup. The utility software that came with the machine was very clear as to what to click on to create a "Spanned Disk": I wanted to make the two drives Span into one large hard drive. I checked off the proper marks and, according to the result, said that they were spanned. However, I was only reading a total of ONE disk when I looked at hard drive space available. I believe that it did not combine them, but "mirrored" them, which is not at all what I had wanted. As a result, I'm out of backup room.
I called Tech Support here and I cannot believe the service: it was so poor. The guy directed me to the MAC software download (I wanted to make sure I had the right, updated utility program) and what was actually downloaded was a WINDOWS version of the drive, on a Mac download! Makes one wonder how much they want to support Apple.
Can anyone help me try to combine the two drives to act as one, big one? Can this even be done?
