Title: Moving files using WebAccess
Post by: witm on May 11, 2009, 09:58:19 AM

Hi, I have a Linkstation Live (LS-CHL) and have set up WebAccess. Is there anyway to MOVE files from one folder to another remotely using the WebAccess feature? I can easily rename files that have been downloaded (via the BitTorrent manager) but I dont see any way to move them?

Is this possible?

Thanks

witm

I'm bumping this as Colin (mod) asked me to ask my question in a thread for everyones benefit, but this has not yet been looked at.

Sorry about that witm, I though I had responded to this... must have closed the tab before clicking submit.

There is no way to move files. The only thing you could do is download the file, then upload it to the new folder, which can be exceedingly tedious.

The Web Access feature was designed as a simple HTTP file server, not as a filesystem emulator like the main Windows File and Print Sharing (SMB) feature. Regardless, I'll forward up a request for a Move feature to be added.

Colin,

Thanks for the response. Yes a Move feature will be very helpful in managing the Linkstation remotely. So far that is the only feature I feel is missing for me to completly manage my downloads and files.

Thanks
