Title: HD CELU2 Cant set permissions from a Vista computer
Post by: stevecrossman on May 11, 2009, 09:32:29 AM
I am having problems setting up access permissions from my Vista laptops. I have four Vista laptops with shared usage of 12 people on each. To overcome the storage problem of 12 users on 4 machines I bought the NAS hard drive Buffalo 2 Share above. I find that I cannot set the permissions as I did in XP Pro and all of the individual folders on the external drive are accessible by all users. Is there a way around this or is it a problem with the HD having FAT32.

Permissions for this device cannot be set via Windows on to a Linux based kernel and formatting the device will remove the kernel and the NAS function will be gone.  Sorry to report.
