Can you access the Linkstation locally? Also the CD wont help you, Download Nas Navigator and see if it reports any errors to you. the unit might be in EM mode. If so download the firmware and update the linkstation.

Nas Navigator Download -> http://buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/download/nasnavi-278.zip

Firmware V3 download -> http://buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/download/lswtglv3-310b.zip

Firmware V1 download -> http://buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/download/LSWTGL-109.zip

NOTE: you need to know what model is your unit. If it is LS-W1.0TGL/R1 then it is a V1 but if it states V3 in the model its a V3.
I believe the V3 model has 2 USB ports in the back as well. Not 100% sure on this.

If its not in EM Mode let me know
