Title: Disk Error Status 7
Post by: gmatz on December 08, 2014, 10:22:07 AM
I have reviewed the user manual for for my Terastation 5600D and did not find any reference to error status descriptions. I have been getting an error status of 1 on drive 1 and 6 for about a month.  I contacted support and was told not to worry if the RAID status and drive status in NAS Navigator did not show any errors. This past weekend I received my morning e-mail of status report and disk 6 had error 6 on Sunday and error 7 this morning.  Can anyone tell me what the various error codes mean?  Below is the message.  I still see a normal status for the RAID array and the disk.

HDD Use]
RAID Array 1: 6270140680/7681117440 kB (usage: 82%)

[Disk Error Status]
Disk 1: 1
Disk 2: 0
Disk 3: 0
Disk 4: 0
Disk 5: 0
Disk 6: 7

So after the name of whatever disk it will give you a number. That number means that disk 6 has 7 bad sectors.

FYI make sure you have a spare disk for when it fails unless you using RAID 6. Then.. i wouldnt worry to much but i would still have a spare disk.
