Title: ts-1.0gl/R5 can ping but can not connect
Post by: Rowdymon on May 06, 2009, 02:01:24 PM

So here is what I have tried...

I have the Client Utility, it claims to be able to see the TS, I can tell t he software to change the IP, it shows successful, however it never changes the IP on the TS.

I can ping the IP successfully, however can not get to the browser configuration.

I downloaded the firmware update, however I get the following error message:

TS-IGL that needs updating wasn't found.

I'm at wits end, the TS shows no errors on the screen, all four HD's show positive and if I remove the network cable I can not ping.

I have done a factory reset, there is no data on this box I need...I just want it to function.

Can someone assist please?

I'm very interested in what is found out here.  I am also having a problem with my unit (same model).  A little different problem in that when I try to re-flash the TS it keeps saying that my password is incorrect.  I've tried the Factory Defaults via the Init button but it did not help.

I'm trying to boot the TS from a TFTP server and it doesn't even link up the NICs.  Half the time it fails the NIC with an E21 error.  However, let the unit boot normally and the interface comes right up.

My unit failed over the weekend and I haven't been able to get it back up and working.  I have another unit (a 2TB TS) and I'm considering moving the drives to that unit to see if I can get it to start and as least recover my data.

Same problem for me.  I can ping the TS but the Navigator will not find it on the network.  I am able to browse to it, but the log in creds fail in the browser, so I can't administer the device.  Backups seem to be functioning, but all I need to do is reset the clock to current date/time, as default "11/20/07" is not useful.   ::)
TIA
