Title: 4tb on box but getting 2.7TB ?? Link Station Pro Quad
Post by: shaz365 on November 13, 2014, 07:17:40 AM
Hi Guys

I bought this product http://www.ebuyer.com/261331-buffalo-linkstation-pro-quad-4tb-nas-drive-4x-1tb-ls-qv4-0tl-r5-eu

I need 4TB, not 2.7TB on a raid setup. No where in the description can I see that this product will not give 4.0tb. Is there any way to change the settings to get full 4tb? If not this device is useless to me.

Many thanks in advance

This sounds correct for a raid. Since the default raid is Raid 5 this should be the correct size. If you don't want a raid 5 and you want all the storage you would choose a raid 0 and if one drive fails you lose all your data. Also there is no true way to get 4TBs out of 4TBs. You would have roughly 3.6TB or 3.7TB. Download the manual to understand how to access the unit so you can delete the raid and build a new one with no redundancy.

enter 4 disk, 1 TB and raid 5
