Title: Buffalo Linkstation - Web Access Folder Permissions
Post by: deardley on October 02, 2014, 10:33:17 AM
I have a Buffalo Linkstation 420, and I am having trouble getting the permissions to shake out for user web access.  Even though I set users up through the Admin settings as having no access to a particular folder, that folder is still accessible when I log in with that user through the web access interface.

Is there something I'm missing or is this something that is managed differently for the web access vs different types of access?

AND... I found my own answer after some more digging.  You have to go in deeper into the settings of each folder and modify the web access permission to inherit the permissions you set elsewhere.  Seems kind of stupid to set permissions elsewhere for user access to particular folders, and yet the folder settings default to web access for everyone.

Problem solved.
