Title: Linkstation Pro Duo - Red Drives and Capacity
Post by: Kurto2021 on October 01, 2014, 08:39:45 AM
I just bought a linkstation pro duo and so far I like it a lot.  My thought is that I would like to replace my drives with the WD Red drives.  First question is that the best option.  Second question if I buy just 1 6tb drive will the device recognize it.  I know it will recognize a 4tb drive but what happens when I put in a 6tb

Kurto2021,

Chances of the unit seeing a 6tb.. 50/50.. dont know much info on the 6tb drives or if they need special drivers or what to have the be recognize. I know 4tb will. I also know that the wd reds will work.

Here is the pdf containing all the disk buffalo states will work,
http://www.buffalotech.com/content/files/products/LS-WVLE_Compatibility_List1.pdf

I dont use wd reds, i use these disk

they work fine in all my units that take 4 tb, if not i use a 3tb,.. just depends on you i guess.
