Title: Buffalo USB Drive HD-GD2.0u3 Invalid Device Descriptor
Post by: jimtpowers on September 22, 2014, 08:34:52 AM
My boot drive recently failed. New drive, OS reloaded with all of the latest updates for 8.1 64-bit. When I try to re-connect this drive to restore my files, I get the error above. It was working before my boot drive failed so I have to assume there is something hosed in a driver somewhere, just can't find any help.

My PC is a Dell Inspiron 660, only a year and a half old. Everything else is working as expected on re-load. I have NOT loaded any custom drivers from Dell at this point.

Have you loaded the chipset drivers for Windows? Those will include the USB controller drivers.
