Hi all,

I recently got an error on my link station duo saying that drive one had failed (although I could still access my data and therefore backed it up to an external drive.) I replaced drive one with a new drive of the same brand and size, but had no luck. I swapped the new drive over to the second bay and put the working existing drive into bay one. Rebooted and got the same error. Now it seems no matter what drive I put in bay one, I get an error on that bay. Drives that show up as working in bay two do not work in bay one - so I am thinking it is the NAS box itself must have something wrong with bay one.

Can anyone suggest something I can try to fix it? I've already bought a third drive it doesn't seem I needed, not really keen on having to buy a second NAS box as well....

Have you tried getting the NAS to recreate the array from web admin?

Thanks for the reply. It can't recreate the array as it won't detect anything in bay one.
