Hello!

I can find many posts that deal with nfs issues in this forum, but none matches my problem:

I've activated NFS on a TS III. I can mount the exported share on my Linux machine and I can cd into the mounted directory. I can create new directories into which I can copy files. I can even copy a hole directory structure containing subdirectories and many files into the mounted share. But as soon as I try to ls the files I get:

ls: reading directory .: Input/output error
total 0


All commands are run as root on the Linux machine, so it can't be due to wrong permissions. It seems like the nfs implementation is quite buggy on the TS, as soon as subdirectories are involved.

Yes, I can confirm this error. I have the same issues. However, I can cd into the subdirectories and there it works.

E.g.
cd /mnt/nas/some/path
ls
ls: reading directory .: Input/output error
cd A
ls
AA AB AC AD AE AF

Not yet sure what is happening. Looking at the nfs packets, I see nfs request / response traffic on the network. So looks like my system doesn't understand what the NAS is trying to tell me.

Btw, I have a TS5800 on firmware 2.73 and my machine is Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit. Any coincidence? Did you have any luck so far?

Update: looks like my problems disappeared by switching NFS from user to kernel mode (part of the NFS settings).
