Title: LS-Q1 Mac Mavericks Printing Problem
Post by: JohnG999 on August 16, 2014, 01:38:34 PM
Hi - I have a LinkStation Quad (LS-QL FW 1.10) that has print server enabled with a Brother HL-4040CN via Windows.  All my PCs are able to print without issues.  I just got a MacBook Air and have followed the Brother & Apple instructions to add the networked printer. but it is not working.  It appears to install correctly (using the Brother driver) specifying Workgroup location of the print server queue, but then when I attempt to print from the Mac, the printer is always paused and listed as offline.  If there are any known issues with the LS/Mac and the print server, please let me know.  Thanks!

I found the solution: add the printer using the IP > LPD protocol. In the LPD protocol you must enter the printer queue name.  Use the printer driver (Brother in my case).
