Title: LinkStation Duo stuck in 'Updating the Firmware'
Post by: waggy75 on August 12, 2014, 02:31:07 PM
I have a linkstation duo which would not go past the 'blinking power light' stage when starting up. Reading resources on the forum, I found that I need to get it in Emergency Mode, and upgrade the firmware. I entered EM, downloaded the new firmware, started the installation process, and then the Info/Error light started flashing the I25 pattern (Updating the firmware. *Do not turn LinkStation OFF during the update.).
It has been that way for a few hours.

Any ideas on what I can do to get it running? Can anything be done to save the data on it?

I had the same issue on my LS421DE. I said screw it and powered it off then restarted it and flashed it again and it went through in about 20 mins. I am seriously thinking about a new NAS in the spring.
