Title: CE500U2 Firmware update
Post by: texas75069 on May 02, 2009, 10:15:32 PM
Before I update my external drive, is there anyway that I can recover my files on there? I have never had a problem before today, when I tried to access the drive today to back it up I get the message file or directory corrupted and unreadable. Then I came on this site to see that there is a problem and there is a firmware update. But I say again, before I do this, is there anyway to retrieve what is on it before I update the firmware to fix the problem.

If you update the firmware on the unit it will not mess with the data on the drive.  Your just updating the OS on the unit.
