Title: LS-WX4.0TL/R1 Replacement hard disk
Post by: bison3 on July 23, 2014, 07:03:33 AM
I'm getting read errors on one drive in this unit. Set up as raid1. I would like to replace the drive with a
WD Red 2 TB NAS Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, SATA III, 64 MB Cache - WD20EFRX. This drive will replace the
WD        2 TB        Hard Drive                                                    WD20EARS that is came with the LS.

I intend to replace both drives. My questions are:1. Can I first replace the defective drive and rebuild the array, then replace the other drive and rebuild the array again, or will I have to replace both drives at the same time? 2. Will my choice of replacement drive work at all? 3. Can you point me to the HDD compatibility PDF for my unit?. I found  one for another product by Googling but can't find mine Thank-you

Well, I received no responses to my questions so I had to go it alone. Here are the answers:

1. I replace the drives one at a time re-structuring the array each time.

2. Yes they will work

3. The compatibility list is found in the product details.

So there it is the unit is back up and running with RED NAS drives.

I too need to replace a drive. What product details? Where can I find the compatibility list?
