Title: LinkStation Live "Share" folder size
Post by: PhilipL on May 02, 2009, 06:53:16 AM

I keep getting the "out-of-space" message when I copy files to that "Share" folder in my new LinkStation Live.  But there are plenty of disk space left in that 1TB disk because I have not put many things inside there.  Please help. There are many customers out there facing this problem.

Hmm, how do you copy? Can you copy anything? (sometimes you get this message if you don't have write permission)

And for start make sure you do not copy the trashbox folder. Split the copy job. Copy folders with many subfolders and files separately.

Go into folder set up and look at the volume label.  If blank then this is a problem that i (and quite a few others) are having.  So far the only way to seemingly get this back is re-format the drive (following the instructions posted) or at least that is what fixed it for other users.

I have avoided it so far waiting to see if a better fix comes out that does involve transferring all the data again.

What model do you have? Which firmware are you running? Have you tried re-initializing the device?
