Title: Linkstation Quad no longer works
Post by: eg320 on June 23, 2014, 09:14:41 AM
Hello,

My LinkStation Quad model LS-Q6.0TGL/R5 seems to no longer work for some reason.  It can no longer be found on my network or through NAS Navigator, red system error flashes seven times....so errror code 07 I guess.  It's been running fine for 4 or more years, and firmware is still the original 1.11 that it came with.  I run it on a MAC system, and only have a Windows install running on VMFusion virtual machine so I have never tried to update firmware.  It appears as if all 4 drives are working with green lights....and I have shut it down a couple of times and rebooted device and still same problem.  Power switch will not shut device down, and I cannot access it through web browser or software, so I had to pull power supply to shut it down.

Question....if I buy another LS Quad either with or without out drives( as maybe motherboard is bad in my Quad), can I swap in these drives to get data up and running again?  I had my Quad set up running RAID 5.

I am considering buying a LS-QVLE that has no drives to get my unit back up running, or is this solution not going to work

It's not detecting any of the HDDs so the device is faulty. Swooping the HDDs to a lsqvl enclosure will not work, if you don't have a backup then contact a data recovery company.
